September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and The Prostate Cancer Foundation is asking you to suit up on the 27th September to help create awareness about prostate cancer.
What is Suit Up September all about?
We’re asking men and women to wear a suit on the 27th September and to purchase a “Suit Up September” sticker to help create awareness about prostate cancer.
All funds raised will be used to support the education, awareness and research initiatives that we implement.
How can companies, organisations and individuals get involved?
You can simply purchase your “Suit Up September” stickers directly from The Prostate Cancer Foundation and wear a suit on 27th September 2017 or you could organise an event where wearing a suit would be unusual.
Stickers cost R20 each plus a courier fee which is dependent on the delivery address.
Cool ways to celebrate Suit Up September and help create awareness about Prostate Cancer
Firstly, order your stickers from the Prostate Cancer Foundation and wear them, regardless of what activity you have chosen. Secondly take photos, upload them to social media and tag them with #suitupseptember. If you’re wearing our stickers we’ll load them onto our pages.

Johannesburg- and Pretoria-based companies can also book the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s exhibition stand with educational material and a men’s health wellness advisor. We also provide speakers to educate men about prostate cancer.
Why is it important to create awareness about prostate cancer?
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men throughout the world. The risk for prostate cancer increases with age and 70% of men over the age of 70 are likely to be affected. Treatments for prostate cancer are highly effective, particularly if the disease is detected early. Creating awareness about prostate cancer can save lives. Men who have been educated about prostate cancer are more likely to go for their annual screening tests. Detecting prostate cancer early facilitates the best treatment options. There are normally no symptoms in the early stages of prostate cancer which is why screening is so important.
